Wow, best Expozine edition ever… Best event ever for me, even! I want to thank everyone who came over to my booth to check out my artwork, and a special thanks to everyone who walked away with my books, prints and CDs!
As I didnt have any new books out, I didnt expect to do that well, but people are still buying Zombie Commandos and Club Zero G books. The prints did especially well and I quickly realized my pinup art is definitely the way to go. Lots of folks bought some of my gorier prints as well. I also met a lot of cool people and creators, some old friends and new ones (collaborations to come!), all doing great work.
You have no idea how great these events are for a creative boost, getting people’s feedback and reactions on the work you put your heart and soul into.
And thank you Erika for manning the battle station with me. You got some serious PR skillz. It didn’t turn out to be so boring after all, did it? :P

I will be returning to the annual Montreal EXPOZINE this year with my previously published Zombie Commandos and Club Zero G comics but this year the focus will be on prints of many of my illustrations you can find on my website as well as a few never-published-before pieces, including my new ventures into digital painting. Colours prints will be available in various formats, a few of them framed. I will also be selling dollar b&w prints of various sketches.
Of special interest will also be a portfolio of original artwork from the current Zombie Commandos book in progress, the explosive conclusion, the grand finale, the endzeit of my post-apocalyptic opus ;) I will also be presenting my commercial portfolio which includes original artwork for my Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles issue #41 work.
In addition to this madness, I will be offering sketch commissions on-the-spot while I chat you up. I’ll doodle a Ninja Turtle for ya, a pinup of yourself if you’re a hot chick, a zombie portrait if you’re ugly… Don’t be shy :)
So BE THERE! Expozine, Montreal’s annual small press, comic and zine fair, will take place on Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30, 2008, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 5035 St-Dominique (Église Saint-Enfant Jésus, between St-Joseph and Laurier, near Laurier Métro). FREE ADMISSION!!!

My initial Cerberus illustration was more cartoon style with my typical line stroke. As this was a commission for a tattoo, I was asked to make it more “realistic” by adding depth and texture. Corel Painter to the rescue! This is the result…

The Zombie Commandos From Hell Project has been pushed further along this past weekend. New pages have been completed, the plot refined (I’ve been doing research on some famous historical sieges) and while I was sorting out the pages, I realized that the colour stage was slowing me down. I have about 30 or so fully coloured pages so far (available at www.zombiecommandos.com as of this date) but with 50 or so pages to go still, I believe I should be going back to simple shading, as I did for the 5 printed books. My belief is that I can always go back to colouring these once they’ve gone online. I’m litteraly years late in putting this out and cicumstances never allow me to complete it once and for all, so drastic (ok, not so drastic) measures must be taken. The plan is also to have the fifth book presented together with the new episode online. The first 4 printed episodes will not be made available online however, but will be condensed into a short introduction to the online episodes. What do you think?
P.S.: As a side note, I’ve noticed across the web that the fifth book is still refered to as a trade paperback. The 96 page format might have misled some, but this is for the best, as I have no intention of reprinting or collecting the first 4 books for various reasons. The introduction in book 5 should be enough to get the whole story, and the aformentioned condensed illustrated intro will round out the final epic just fine.
P.P.S.: I can’t say when the final chapter will be available online yet, nor when the printed edition will see the light of day. In any case, thank you all for your continued support!

I’ve been doing commissioned artwork for years now but never properly advertised it on this website. I will design record covers, posters, tshirts, you name it. I can also create cartoon portraits and my take on your favorite comic book/cartoon/movie characters. The process is simple:
Here are some basic rates (US and CAN, Euro conversion if applicable):
- Pencil/inked original character sketches on letter or tabloid-sized paper: $20 to $60 + shipping
- Fully rendered digitaly coloured illustrations: $50 to $200 (+ printing and shipping if desired)
Any other project of any complexity will be reviewed for a proper quote. A simple character illustration will obviously not be quoted the same as a full page battle scene such as could be found in the pages of www.zombiecommandos.com. Your contribution will go a long way in keeping me in the illustration game, so I thank you with all my heart :)
